Tips For Great Boudoir Photos

Boudoir photos are a fun and creative way to celebrate womanhood. Whether you are as tiny as a supermodel or a curvy woman, boudoir photography is for every woman. There is no need to feel apprehensive with having your photos taken as long as you follow this guide, the results will be fabulous.

Tip 1: Choose a Photographer You Actually Like. This is one of those times that you don’t bargain hunt. It is important that you choose a photographer that you feel comfortable with. You will be spending a great deal of time with them during your shoot and it is paramount that your personalities mesh well. If you don’t feel comfortable with your photographer, how are you going to be able to take intimate photos that look great? Every single emotion you are feeling will translate through on the camera. If you feel nervous and uncomfortable, it will show. If you feel gorgeous and sexy, it will translate through the camera as well!

Tip 2: Location. A great and common location is going to a hotel room or a photography studio. Hotel rooms typically have large windows that allow for a lot of beautiful natural light to enter the room. The walls are clean and non-distracting to the eye. The beds are always large and comfortable. Also, they are typically spacious enough to change looks/poses seamlessly.

Tip 3: Professional Hair and Makeup. Having your hair and makeup done professionally makes a world of difference. You want to feel gorgeous and sexy in these images, so don’t skip on having this professionally done. Most photographers will offer this as a part of your boudoir package, but if not, you can ask them for a referral.

Tip 4: Avoid Tight Clothing. Arrive in a sports bra and sweats. You don’t want to leave red marks on your skin because they will translate through on your photos. If there is a makeup artist on site, they can touch up those areas for you. However if they are not on-site, you aren’t going to feel comfortable taking photos of your bare skin that has red marks all over.

Tip 5: Reduce Salt Intake. Make sure that you drink plenty of water in the days prior to your shoot. This will help keep your skin looking well hydrated and fresh. And avoid eating too much salt during the days leading up to your shoot. Salt has a tendency to make you feel bloated which probably isn’t the look you are going for.

Tip 6: Go Shopping. Wearing something new that you love always puts your mind and body at ease. When you are excited to put on that sexy corset that hugs you in all the right places, it will boost your confidence and the camera will love you for it!

So search the internet for looks/poses that you like, practice in the mirror with/without clothing. Feel confident and beautiful from the inside and out. If it helps, bring a bottle of your favorite wine to help you relax. No matter your reason, no matter your size, you are a woman that deserves to be celebrated!
